Attempting to create oases of greenery and colour for your premises is not for the faint-hearted! By bringing in the experts to achieve the desired effects is advisable, especially if you don’t have the time, inclination or green fingers to create these gardens yourself.
Greenleaf’s landscaping team design, implement and maintain lawns, flower beds, borders and baskets, creating seas of colourful flowers and lush green lawns. Our horticultural experts hand rear all of our plants in the nurseries that we have. This not only guarantees the quality of our plants and their supply, but it also means that Greenleaf is able to cater for every planting requirement that a customer may have– from bright and dry areas, through to dark and damp environments. Having the ability to grow and supply our own plants is a huge advantage, as it means that we are able to test out new styles and ideas for planting.

Tucked away besides one of the Thames' overflow rivers in Staines is where you'll find our aptly named Waterside Nursery. It's a lovely site, covering an area of 8 and half acres and is the hub of Greenleaf's exterior landscaping and hanging basket business.
Greenleaf is now one of the largest suppliers of exterior landscaping and hanging baskets – including street baskets for local authorities – and we produce over 13,000 baskets and over 400,000 pots of bedding/pot plants every year. For our display and grounds maintenance projects we also grow around 8,500 shrubs, climbers, herbaceous plants.
The great thing about Waterside Nursery has got to be a combination of staff and location. You certainly can’t beat the location on a sunny day, beside the river!
And as for staff, the nursery is run by Mark Iles and his staff of ten who are a great bunch of people. But looking after the nursery is a bit of a busman's holiday for Mark as he is a real plant enthusiast when it comes to growing anything green (and usually exotic) and so his love of plants really shows in the quality of the baskets and plants he grows for Greenleaf.
To cater for this the Waterside Nursery houses ten greenhouses, 2 poly tunnels and 1 shade tunnel. Together this gives us over 5,000 squared metres of space for raising our bedding plants. And if that's not enough, we have a further 2000m square laid down to irrigated shrub beds, plus two outdoor and indoor hanging basket frames holding 7,050 baskets!
So next time you see a lovely hanging basket outside a pub, especially if it’s in full bloom and looks well maintained, chances are it probably originated from our Waterside Nursery!
