Christmas Tree Hire at The Meliá White House Hotel

A prime example of late 1930s architecture, the recently refurbished Meliá White House hotel successfully combines classic architecture with contemporary indulgence, providing 4-star accommodation in a central London location.

As with all hotels in the Meliá group, great effort is applied to every detail in order to ensure that the White House offers a superior guest experience, setting it apart from other hotels.

The brief

In line with its diligent attention to detail, the White House required Christmas décor befitting its quality reputation, with several different trees to complement the classic and contemporary furnishings and style of each of the reception areas, restaurants and bar. The decorations needed to be eye-catching without detracting from the hotel’s stunning features and helping set it apart from other hotels.

The solution

Having had previous experience of PHS Greenleaf with other plant displays, the White House was confident that the UK’s leading provider of planting and landscaping services could provide a suitable choice of hired decorated Christmas trees. After looking at PHS Greenleaf’s range of Christmas colour schemes, the hotel chose 5 real trees with a different theme for each area and complete with LED lights and parcels.

The 7-strong PHS Greenleaf installation team began work at 6am, taking 8 hours to complete the job to the White House’s schedule. As they worked, the team altered the real trees to suit the ceiling heights at each location. The trees were placed at key focal points, carefully avoiding obstruction to staff and guests.

The result

The White House and its guests enjoyed an array of colour throughout the Christmas period, matching the eclectic themes through the hotel. Sourced for their quality and longevity, the real trees easily lasted the season and once the celebrations were over, PHS Greenleaf carefully removed the decorations, environmentally disposing of the Christmas trees and recycling the lights and baubles.

After completing the project, PHS Greenleaf’s Account Manager, Michelle Probert said, “We were delighted that we were able to fulfil The White House’s very high expectations and that of its guests. Their Operations Manager was very happy with the end result and loved the trees that we provided.

“We look forward to working with the Meliá White House hotel in the future.”
