Why artificial orchids are the perfect way to brighten up your workplace

Orchids have long been revered for their beauty, and they’re originally native to tropic regions of Asia and Australia. However, they can grow everywhere in the world (excluding areas with extremely cold or hot temperatures), and they’re also documented to have the largest number of species of any plant!

Because of their stunning appearance and diversity, artificial orchids are an excellent addition to any workplace, whether it’s a hotel, spa, restaurant, pub, coffee shop or even a more corporate office. Not only are they sophisticated and simple, which will add a touch of elegance to your décor, but they’re still eye-catching enough to brighten up your premises due to their impressive height and bright open blooms.

However, although real orchids make for a stunning display, they require a certain degree of care and maintenance to keep them looking their very best – and this can be a tricky and time-consuming task. For example, did you know that one of the most common ways to kill an orchid is by overwatering it?

Real orchids also thrive in a humid environment, and you should be wary of placing them in windows. Although they need to be kept in a bright room, they should be out of reach of direct sunlight.

Fortunately, you’d now struggle to see the difference between most real and artificial plants (including orchids), and fake plants are very easy to maintain; all they need is to be regularly cleaned and dusted, and you can ensure a stunning display all year round!

Another advantage of using artificial orchids to brighten up your workplace is their level of versatility; just choose the colour and size that best suits your workplace. Additionally, with PHS Greenleaf’s new range of desktop artificial flowers, not only can you choose from small, medium, or large orchids, but we also ensure your handcrafted artificial plants are delivered directly to your premises each season, and that they’re replaced with a new design to suit the current time of year.

If you want your artificial plants to match the seasons, we’d recommend shades of warm yellows and greens in Spring, bright pinks and purples in Summer and Autumn, and cool white orchids in Winter.

However, to make artificial orchids look more realistic, they should be anchored in a ‘natural’ material, such as fake moss, dirt, or rocks. Each of the designs in our new Oriental Range are also arranged in a moss filled boat to add a more ‘natural’ feel to the display, and the flowers are complimented by lush green leaves.

Placement tips for artificial orchids

Now that you’ve chosen your artificial orchids, it’s time to decide where you’re going to place them in your premises. As artificial orchids won’t wilt without sunlight, water, and humid conditions, they can be displayed anywhere in your building. This gives you ample chance to get creative!

The small artificial orchids from our new desktop artificial flowers range are the perfect size for coffee tables, bookcases, shelves, and reception desks. However, our medium and large orchids are ideal for making premises look more inviting when used to frame doorways and corridors.

We’d also recommend placing orchids in washrooms, small meeting rooms, and any other part of the workplace that may be lacking in natural light, as this can be a quick and easy way to add some colour and interest to these areas.
